Local Device Information

Imposter AI is designed with privacy in mind and stores most data locally on your device:

• Game Data: Player configurations, game settings, and category preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults
• App Preferences: Your selected themes, audio settings, and other app preferences
• Trial and Purchase Status: Information about your trial period and in-app purchases (stored securely in Keychain)

Word Database

• A bundled word database is copied to your device and tracks which words have been used in gameplay. This data never leaves your device.

Apple Services Integration

When you use certain features, Apple may collect information according to their privacy policy:

• App Store Purchases: Transaction data for in-app purchases is processed by Apple
• StoreKit Integration: Purchase validation and receipt verification through Apple's servers

On-Device AI Processing

• Apple Foundation Models: The app uses Apple's on-device language models for AI agent behaviour during gameplay
• All AI processing occurs entirely on your device — no game data, prompts, or responses are sent to external servers
• No user data is transmitted to any third-party AI service

Local Storage

• All user-created content (players, categories, preferences) is stored locally on your device
• No user data is transmitted to external servers
• Data persists until you delete the app or manually clear it

Secure Storage

• Purchase and trial information is stored securely in your device's Keychain
• Audio files are temporarily cached during playback and automatically cleaned up
• We implement industry-standard security practices for local data protection

No Data Sales

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties.

Apple Integration

• Purchase transactions are processed through Apple's secure systems
• App Store Connect may provide anonymized analytics data to help us understand app performance
• We do not receive personal information about users from Apple

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information only when required by law or to:

• Comply with legal processes or government requests
• Protect our rights, property, or safety
• Prevent fraud or security threats
• Enforce our Terms of Service

Apple Services

The app integrates with the following Apple services:

• StoreKit: For in-app purchase processing
• AVAudioSession: For ambient music playback (no recording capabilities)
• Apple Foundation Models: For on-device AI agent processing
• iOS UserDefaults: For local preference storage
• UserNotifications: For optional local notifications (engagement reminders). No data is sent externally. You can disable notifications in the app settings or iOS Settings at any time.

External Links

The app may open external Wikipedia article links in Safari when you tap on a word's details. These links are opened via your browser and are subject to Wikipedia's privacy policy. No data is sent from the app itself.

Sharing

Imposter AI includes a share option that shares a static App Store link. No personal or gameplay data is included in the shared content.

No Third-Party Analytics

Imposter AI does not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data collection tools.

Data Control

• Local Data: You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app
• Audio Settings: You can disable ambient music in the app settings
• Purchase History: Managed through your Apple ID account settings

Notifications

• You can enable or disable local notifications in the app settings
• To fully revoke notification permission, go to iOS Settings → Imposter AI → Notifications

No Account Required

• Imposter AI does not require account creation or personal information
• All features work offline without internet connectivity
• No email addresses, names, or contact information are collected

Permissions Used

• Audio Playback: For ambient music (AVAudioSession.Category.ambient)
• Notifications: Optional local notifications for engagement reminders
• StoreKit: For in-app purchase processing
• Apple Foundation Models: For on-device AI gameplay features

No Permissions Required

• No camera, microphone, location, or contacts access
• No network connectivity required for core functionality
• No background processing
